Dandy little heater

Postby okie alice on December 8th, 2009, 9:52 am

Using a thermatic heater (whatever that means), an infra-red, a ceramic and a regular bulb above and beside my tortoises in the 9 x 13' (which I blocked in half with a tarp) wasn't doing the trick. In haste I went to Lowe's and grabbed the $19.97 FeatureComfort space heater w/ fan to add heat. That darn little space heater will heat the space with temperatures to spare. I've shut off the other heater, turned off the ceramic and regular light bulb and hope the OG&E bill doesn't give me a heart attack. Now my problem in the shed and the house is keeping the humidity up to a comfortable level for torts, frogs, a cat and me.

2 tiger-legged monkey tree frogs
3 fire-belly toads, 2 dart frogs,
3 box turtles, 1 crested gecko.

I have one of those heaters as well heating my little green house/enclosure. They sure do provide the needed amount to heat large space and IMO it's lots nicer to deal with one cable than all the cables from heat pads and light fixtures. Just have to see now how much more the bill is going to be!
